Love is in the Air!

Returning from a 15 month deployment to Iraq, Nick (VMI Class of 2005) surprised his bride-to-be (Sarah) with a hot air balloon ride aboard The Pride of Forest on June 24th, 2008. Nick and Sarah will be getting married on Saturday, June 28th, and Nick wanted to give Sarah a hot air balloon ride before they left Lynchburg. Sarah has always wanted to do it, so Nick called Forest Winds. The afternoon was perfect…blue skies and moderate winds. The Pride of Forest took off from Goode Station Rd. and cruised southeasterly towards Enterprise Dr. in Forest. At one point during the ride, the balloon came down low over some train tracks and slowly navigated along the railway…pretty cool. As the sun began to set in the west, The Pride of Forest made its way to Wyndhurst and make a picture perfect landing just off Enterprise Dr. Nick and Sarah really had a great time on the ride, and afterwards enjoyed a traditional champagne toast in the twilight of a Forest sunset…
Congratulations Nick and Sarah! May you two share many more sunsets together!
